When using the Java Service Wrapper on Windows operating systems, a Windows Service is created that has a identifying name. this This name needs to be unique. See Running the server as a service for details on how to configure the identifying name in the Java Service Wrapper.

The Java Service Wrapper also uses a port to communicate with the Java process it that is running launched as a service, but the Java service Wrapper automatically looks for a free port if the specified port is not available, so this port does not need to be made unique.
